There was also an overview of the BIM Toolkit (rolled out from April 2015),  providing step-by-step support to define, manage and validate responsibility for information development and delivery at each stage of the asset lifecycle.

January 2015 Meeting: BIM Technologies and Services Showcase

October 2014 Meeting: BIM Technology Showcase

Hosted by University of Reading, Design Innovation Research Centre, School of Construction Management and Engineering | Whitenights Campus | Reading


A number of technology providers including  Autodesk, Bentley, Graphisoft, Solibri, Tekla and Trimble will deliver short presentations to provide you with a general overview of BIM related software.

Visit the BIM CAVE:  Dr Maxwell Mallia-Parfitt, University of Reading

Our hosts, the University of Reading, are also offering the chance to experience total immersion within a BIM model.  In the BIM CAVE (Collaborative Automatic Virtual Environment) graphics are projected in stereo onto three walls and the floor and viewed with active stereo glasses equipped with a location sensor.

July 2014 Meeting: Case Study HMYOI Cookham Wood

Keynote from Fiona Moore, BIM Task Group and Lead Designer, HMYOI Cookham Wood Project.

Cookham Wood was the first Government BIM Early Adopter project and it was a steep learning curve from the outset.  Balancing the various BIM maturity levels of team members and changing the way some deliverables were approached. 

Learn about the Project Team’s experience of implementing BIM on this early adopter project, the challenges faced, the lessons learnt and how it has informed subsequent projects.

Keynote from David Greenwood, Director – BIM Academy, part of the winning team of the ‘Build Sydney Live 2013 challenge. 

David will share how the BIM Academy collaborated with a wide range of BIM specialists to produce this award-winning design during the gruelling 48-hour competition. With team members scattered across the globe, collaborative technologies played a key role in the success.
